仙台市太白区の八本松市民センターで「八本松ファミリーコンサート」が行なわれました。
仙台フィルハーモニー管弦楽団からヴァイオリンのネストル・ロドリゲスさんと大友靖雅さん、ヴィオラ御供和江さん、チェロ石井忠彦さんが出演しました。大友さんは八本松小学校の卒業生だそうですから、まさに地元に根ざしたコンサートですね。
蒸し暑い日でしたが、赤ちゃんからお年寄りまで130名以上が集まりました。窓や扉を開け放った会場では楽譜が風で飛び、演奏者はときどき苦戦していました。

ゲストのソプラノ歌手、千石史子さんは「アヴェ・ヴェルム・コルプス」「アヴェ・マリア」で美声を披露し、また、この日のために地域の小学生と合唱を練習してきた成果を発表しました。千石さんの指揮で19名の子どもたちが「花は咲く」「ビリーブ」を歌うと、観客は目を細めて聴き入っていました。暑さを忘れさせるようなのびやかな澄んだ歌声に大きな拍手が沸きました。
アンコールはみんなで「故郷」を歌いました。
この周辺には市内最大の仮設住宅群があり、並行して最寄り駅周辺では大規模開発が進んでいます。あの子たちの「ふるさと」はこれからどうなっていくのかと思いつつ、でも、ふるさとは自分たちで創ってゆくものだから、君たちにかかっているだよ！といろいろ思うコンサートでした。

 On August 3, 2013, we organized a Concert for Recovery at Hachihonmatsu community center in Taihaku ward, Sendai, with a performance by the musicians of the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra: Nestor Rodriguez (violin), Yasumasa Otomo (cello), Kazue Mitomo(viola) and Tadahiko Ishi (cello). Mr. Otomo, one of our violinists, graduated from an elementary school in this area, so this concert had a strong connection to this neighborhood. 
On a muggy day with the windows and doors thrown open, the musicians played hard, their notes flying away on the wind. Guest soprano Fumiko Sengoku had practiced with the elementary school students, who then demonstrated their new skills by performing in chorus. Their clear, youthful voices earned resounding applause.
The largest temporary housing area in the city is nearby, while a large-scale redevelopment is underway around the closest train station. We pray that the hopes and dreams of the children here come true.
