更生保護女性会は、地域の犯罪予防活動と犯罪や非行をした人の更生支援をボランティアで行う団体です。石巻地域の会員の方々はご自身が被災しながらもその辛さは表に出さず、人のため、地域のために活動をしているとの話をうかがい、そのご苦労をねぎらうために演奏をお届けに来ました。
最初に、石巻広渕地区にある広渕寺住職の奥野昭典さんが「むきあう、支え合う」という講演をなさいました。
奥野さんは被災地を巡る移動傾聴喫茶「café de Monk」や小学校での読み聞かせなど、積極的に地域活動を行っている方です。講演では、悲しみや辛さに向き合うこと、新たな希望を持って人のために行動することが語られ、会場のあちこちで涙を拭う姿が見られました。  

続いて仙台フィル弦楽四重奏による復興コンサートが行われました。演奏はヴァイオリン松山古流さん、熊谷洋子さん、ヴィオラ御供和江さん、チェロ石井忠彦さんです。 「港町十三番地」「川の流れのように」では会場から自然と歌声が湧きました。
終演後、ある方から「あれ以来ずっと音楽を聞く気にはなれなかったけれど、今日は久しぶりに聴いて《やっぱり音楽って良いな》と思った」と言われました。

あの日から「まだ」2年、を実感した日でした。

On 10 May, 2013, we organized a concert for the Women’s Association for Rehabilitation Aid in Ishinomaki, which voluntarily organizes rehabilitation aid for offenders and organizes crime prevention support for the Ishinomaki region. Despite having suffered the disaster themselves, the members of the association have come to act for the sake of the region.
At the beginning there was a lecture by a Buddhist priest Mr. Shoten Okuno, entitled “Facing Sadness, Supporting Each Other”.  He organizes relief work for disaster victims at a mobile victim’s companion café known as Café de Monk.
After the concert, a woman said: “Ever since the March 11th, I haven’t had the will to listen to music, but listening after such a long time, I thought to myself, ‘Music really is great’”.
We realised it has been “only” two years since that event.
