5月2日（木）、石巻市総合福祉会館みなと荘にて復興コンサートがおこなわれました。
演奏者は仙台フィルのヴァイオリニスト小川有紀子さんとチェリスト山本純さん、そして在仙ピアニストの星簇亜実さんです。
みなと荘の周辺はまだ津波被害の跡が生々しく残っており、崩れかけた工場やがらんどうの住宅が痛々しい様子でした。真向かいにある湊小学校は閉鎖されたままです。
みなと荘は1階の天井近くまで浸水しましたが、2階部分は無事だったそうです。今日はその2階大広間で演奏することになりました。

天候にも恵まれて、およそ70名の方が集まりました。みなさんとても楽しみにしていた様子で、会場には静かな熱気が漂っています。
間近で見る生演奏の迫力に歓声が上がり、楽しいトークに笑顔があふれました。涙をこらえきれない方もいらっしゃいました。

「また演奏しに来ます」
「また来てね」

そんな会話が交わされました。
今回で300回目を迎えた復興コンサートは、たとえば避難所の片隅から大きなコンサートホールまで、ソロからオーケストラまで、と、さまざまな機会に、さまざまな形で開催してまいりました。音楽の力が被災された方々にとってほんの少しでも明日を生きる励みになってほしいとの願いで続けてきたことです。私たちにできることはとてもささやかですが、これからも長く継続していきたいと思っています。

On May 2, 2013, we organized a Concert for Recovery at Minato-so, the community hall at Minato Area in Ishinomaki. Around this area the traces of the tsunami are still vivid, with collapsed factories and houses. On March 11, 2011, buildings in Minato-so were inundated almost up to the ceiling of the ground floor. Seventy people attended this concert, and cheers of joy greeted the live-performance which unfolded before them. Smiles were seen all around as everybody enjoyed talking. Some were in tears. We exchanged such comments as, “We’ll come back to perform again” and “We’ll be waiting for you”.

This concert was the 300^th Concert for Recovery, which were conducted in diverse locations, occasions and forms, from the corner of an evacuation center to a concert hall, from solo to orchestra format. Throughout these concerts, our motivation has been the hope that the power of music can support those affected by the disaster, providing encouragement to live for the future. We can do very little, but nevertheless we want to continue our activities.
